Time to Turn the Page

"Since no man knows the future, who can tell him what is to come?"

~ Proverbs 8:7 NIV ~

The Christmas tree has lost its leaves,
The star has gone askew.
Once again it's clear to see
That Christmas Day is through.

From there the days go quickly by
Each minute seems to scurry,
'Til we farewell the year that's been.
Where'd it go in such a hurry?

We hardly got to know it,
Seems it only just begun!
But now the door is closing,
On its moment in the sun.

And what memories it's left us!
Far too many filled with pain.
But not all the year was sorrow,
There was sunshine in the rain.

Amidst the nightmare moments
Full of tragedy and grief,
Came those times of precious treasure,
Times of joy beyond belief.

As we reflect on days gone by
And shed a little tear,
We must take time to bring to mind
Those ones that we hold dear.

We need to gather up each joy
And store it in our heart
To carry with us from the past
Into this brand new start.

For that is what God gives to us
With every bright New Year
An untouched sheet to write upon
Though the future's still unclear.

As a child of God you'll find the Lord
Is waiting there for you,
With a plan and special purpose
Of new things for you to do.

Now take His hand with courage,
Walk into the great unknown.
As you shine your light for Jesus
You'll reap fruit for what you've sown.

So don't regret the things undone,
Don't hold tight to any stage.
As New Year's Eve comes to an end,
Just simply turn the page.

As a child of God you'll find the Lord
Is waiting there for you,
With a plan and special purpose
Of new things for you to do.

Now take His hand with courage,
Walk into the great unknown.
As you shine your light for Jesus
You'll reap fruit for what you've sown.

So don't regret the things undone,
Don't hold tight to any stage.
As New Year's Eve comes to an end,
Just simply turn the page.

Wishing You a Year of Love, Joy, Peace and Prosperity
