Another Degree of
Success

In the past month, I have been blessed in seeing my weight-loss journey have another degree of success! Yippeeeee!! My hubby and I have been in the process of moving into a new apartment, but I continued with my efforts of low fat, low-cal, and I did as much walking as possible during those weeks, even more than usual. Through it all, I have now lost a total of 32 pounds since April 10th.
Thirty-two pounds may not sound like a lot of weight loss to some, considering the length of time I have worked toward my goal. But it is a tremendous success to me, seeing how I reached a plateau during the summertime that had me on a cycle of fluctuating between the same 4 or 5 pounds.
It would have been easy to give up, and quite honestly, this week I’ve been dealing with an extra amount of stress, in that my mother had surgery and has been under my care here with me, and during a busy time when we are still trying to set up our apartment and complete the last portion of our move. I have not been as faithful this particular week to watch my food intake, so I may be “spinning my wheels” at the moment (it takes several days before the results show).
Now that we are moved, I have been cooking more and have easier access to foods that I wasn’t tempted with before. And during the stress of it all, I ran out of my Meridia, which helps me control my eating urges easier. However, I feel that any temptations I gave in to this week were on my own account, and not due to the lack of the medication. I know I need to make a concerted effort to stay on the right track...
I am hopeful that when I write my article to you next month, I can say I have lost at least another 6 pounds. But again, as always on this weight-loss journey of mine, “only time will tell.” Until then, I am looking forward to greater success and, hopefully, more willpower. I hope you have a wonderful October...and may God bless you and your loved ones until we meet again!!
