Weight-Loss Journey, August 31, 2001
Greetings, friends!
I hope the summer has been successful and enriching for you, and I hope you are doing well with your own personal weight loss efforts as we share this journey. I am still losing weight, but after losing my initial burst of weight, it is much more gradual now, about ½ to ¾ pounds a week, which is VERY, very slow. And I know I can do BETTER!!!
As we approach the Labor Day holiday this weekend, I look back on this past summer and the attempts I’ve made with making progress on my weight-loss struggle, and I must admit to you, I’ve been weak at times and it has not been an easy trip!!! Yet I must also admit that I am not doing my part all the way, in particularly concerning exercising and drinking an abundance of water like I know I have to do to make this work! Oh, I am trying to eat more of the ‘right’ foods, but it’s harder for my body to burn the calories until I do the other part.
My husband and I are moving to another location in a couple of weeks, and I am anxiously awaiting that event. When we get set up in our new home, I have a room set aside "in my mind" for my treadmill, and I hope to put in extra effort to use it. My doctor told me that if I will walk on my treadmill holding small weights in each hand, I will lose twice the weight than if I walk without the weights. I cannot wait to give it a try, but for now I do not have my treadmill available to use, so I am "impatiently waiting."
I am hopeful that I can tell you two weeks from now that I am at least four pounds lighter, but only time and my better efforts at exercise and drinking more water will make the difference. Until next time, let’s keep on keeping on, let’s do not give up, and let’s continue our journey to a healthier, fitter self!!
