A Woman's Road to Motherhood
- I digress....
Copyright 2001 by Meredith Agius
Since it was two years ago since my son was born, and three years that my Daughter was born, I hoped that I might digress from my story and write a personal reflection of what these children have meant to me.
They both came as a gift and a charge from God at a time when I was really feeling low, and changed my life, bringing joy and laughter to our house which was bereft of the spontaneity and energy brought by children. They have challenged me to become a better person and also to sit back and enjoy the simple pleasures that they provide. I have learned to play, dance, jump and sing again, and to just dive right in and play a game of Frog Pond with them and cuddle up with a great book that they want read for the umpteenth time with conviction and a new sense of adventure.
I love each cuddle and “I love you, please and thank you”. Their physical, mental and spiritual growth continues at an amazing rate and it pleases more that they are very close and enjoy each other's company and are truly concerned for the others’ welfare. They surely have the base for care and compassion that will serve them well in their future life. Their joy for learning is clear, and they seem to set a great base for their future.
I am blessed that prayers were answered affirmatively, and that our blessings have fared so well, enjoying the shelter and love of the Lord. I just want for these little ones to have every opportunity to grow, develop and thrive in the knowledge and love of the Lord, and give them every opportunity for giving them the building blocks for a wonderful future. My love for them is almost beyond words. I am thankful for the lessons that I learn from them every day.
