The Beauty I See

Copyright 2001 by Melissa Rives

I am awed by all the beauty,

God created with such love.

The clouds that fill the heavens,

Floating softly up above.

The fragrance of the flowers,

Carried gently with the breeze.

The colors of the Autumn,

Splashed upon the stately trees.

A winding brook that bubbles,

As it flows across the rocks.

The coolness on my feet,

When I've taken off my socks.

The singing of the birds,

Sweet mother robin on her nest.

Feeding all her young ones,

Tucked so warmly 'neath her breast.

But the thing that shows his beauty most,

Of all things great or small...

Are the children God has blessed me with,

Yes, they're the best of all.

More beauty in their eyes I see,

Than in a field of flowers.

More dreams yet to be dreamed,

As we rock to sleep for hours.

So when it's cold outside,

And the world is dark and gray...

I see beauty all around me,

As I watch my children play.
