A teacher is a special friend
Straight form God's heart to be
A leader, guide, protector,
To help a child to see.

To see the mysteries of God's world;
Make sure that he is learning.
All the while to seek the Lord
And keep the fires burning.

The children must want more of Him
Than e'er they could imagine.
A pattern of His image true
A godly teacher fashions.

The times are tough, the pressure great
And Satan's there to trip,
But He who neither slumbers; sleeps
Won't cause your feet to slip.

It's sad to say that some won't see,
Not 'cause we haven't tried.
For many sleepless night's been spent
While on our knees we cried.

But God would say to each of us
"I've asked you faithful be,
And when your labor all is done.
Just leave the rest to Me."

With the anticipation of the new school year, we join with all the Christian teachers that God will anoint in an even greater measure, so that more of the students will come to know Him through the word of our testimony. May He grant wisdom to all the new teachers and energize the veteran warriors. Sharpen our swords, Lord.
