Your Sweet Embrace
by Sammy Wright

I want You to know what you have done for me,

How You dried my tears when I felt so lonely.

I want You to know how sad I had been,

And how hopeless my whole life seemed.

How that changed the day you set me, Your child, free,

And I want You to know how much I love You for touching me.

I want You to know that I think about You every single day,

Though sometimes I am mad at You, I love You anyway.

Days and nights, they fall away from my grasp,

They slip away, and they become memories, parts of my past.

I want You to know that my old memories, dark and grey,

They  are like old photographs that I have put away.

I want You to know that You are my todays and all my tomorrows,

And that I will try to bury my yesterdays, and all the pain and sorrows.

I want You to know that always from now on,  I will seek Your face,

And I thank You for the safety, warmth, and love of Your sweet embrace.
