Country Chili
This is a low fat bean chili, perfect for the cold winter months!
Ingredients:
1 large onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 TBS. reduced-calorie margarine, melted
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. basil
1/2 - 1 tsp. chili powder, as desired
1/2 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. thyme
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 16-ounce can whole tomatoes, undrained, and chopped
1 8-ounce can red kidney beans, or other beans you prefer
Directions:
Sauté onion and garlic with butter until tender. Stir in remaining ingredients
and simmer uncovered for about 10-15 minutes.
